About Adoption

At C.A.R.E. we strive to make successful adoptions that are ideal for both the pet and the adopter. Adopters must be 18 years or older and have a valid ID. All adoptions and visits are by appointment only.

What Does it Mean to Adopt?

  • By adopting, you are saving your pet’s life and helping to free up space in the adoption center, which gives C.A.R.E. more space to rescue more animals from abandonment and euthanasia.

  • Pets available through C.A.R.E. are spayed or neutered and have been microchipped, vaccinated and treated for parasites (when applicable) which can save you money on initial vet costs.

  • C.A.R.E. Adoption Counselors take pride in helping individuals and families find loving pets.

  • C.A.R.E. offers a lifetime commitment to every animal who comes through our adoption program.

If there are challenges during the transition, our Adoption Counselors are available to help adopters navigate the experience.

In the event that something happens to you or your family and you can no longer provide your pet with proper care, we ask that you bring them back to us so we can help re-home them.

Adoption Fees

Adoption fees can be paid with cash, check or credit card.

Our fees include a full medical exam by a veterinarian.

  • Cats: This includes a Feline Leukemia and FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus) test for cats, Rabies and Distemper Vaccines, Deworming, Microchip and Spay/Neuter.

  • Dogs: Receive (when age appropriate) a Heartworm Check, Spay/Neuter, Rabies and Distemper Vaccines, Canine Flu Vaccine, Deworming, Microchip and Kennel Cough preventative.

Our adoption fees do not cover the procedures and vet work that we provide the animals. We fundraise to make up the difference.

You can help cover ongoing medical costs for animals in our care by donating. Your support can make a life-saving difference!
