Hugo

An update from his family: As a C.A.R.E volunteer I first met Hugo soon after he arrived at C.A.R.E with a cast on his back left leg and lots of energy and spirit. I knew Hugo was a special kitty from the beginning when he would reach out to staff with his white paw to play.

Unfortunately, Hugo’s leg was not healing as hoped and it was soon clear that he would lose his leg and need to be fostered. My husband and I were happy to be Hugo’s foster family. Due to C.A.R.E.’s terrific fostering program Hugo received excellent medical care helping him to heal and adapt to being a tripod kitty like a champ.

My husband and I soon learned that Hugo is quite a character with lots of spirit and a big, wonderful personality. Our love only grew for Hugo and we realized with all his cute antics he was in his forever home and adoption was the next step.

My husband and I are so happy that Hugo came into our lives and we thank C.A.R.E for being such a wonderful organization providing a wonderful loving environment for cats and dogs needing to be cared for, loved and connected to their forever homes. Hugo is happy being loved and looking out the window at the wilderness habitat in his backyard.
