Callie
Callie was C.A.R.E.'s rotund senior kitty. From the time she arrived she was sweet and patient. A volunteer favorite, allowing herself to be cleaned while trying to hold on to her dignity. She was too big to clean the important parts herself.
Callie came to C.A.R.E. in December 2019 weighing a whooping 18 lbs. To her dismay she was put on a strict wet food only diet. She was not at all happy about that and put up a good fight but our awesome volunteers persisted and won her over to the wet food side, with dry food treats of course. She lost almost 2 lbs. in the 5 months she stayed at C.A.R.E.
When the shelters shut down for COVID in April 2020 she became our pandemic baby and that was the best thing that came out of those hard times for our little family. She is now a 10 lb happy kitty enjoying her wet food, with dry food treats, every day in the comfort of her own home.
Purrfect Happy Ending:
Our cat volunteer Phyllis adopted Callie who she had fostered during COVID.
